Machine Shop Tour – Day 16 This would be my second submission to the South Bend Lathe Museum. A 1960s South Bend 13” metal lathe (CL145B) with a 5’ bed—and I can’t take any credit for the restoration on this one. The entire rebuild was done by a dear friend and mentor of mine. I was fortunate enough to purchase this machine from him when he retired and downsized his shop. As you can see, his workmanship left no corners cut—this lathe is absolutely mint.
