Typhoon #Halong remains a Category 4 typhoon (120 kts - 220 km/h) in the US scale (1-min winds) at above 30°N latitude today, October 8. Reaching Category 4 TY intensity (≥120 kts; ≥220 km/h) at above 30°N in the basin is quite rare. The last such storm was TY Faxai in 2019. Only six (6) storms have previously achieved this since the beginning of the satellite era (1966-present).
