After a powerful stretch of Midwest storms brought tornadoes, flooding and damaging winds to parts of Nebraska and the region, the National Weather Service is urging residents not to wait for the next warning to think about safety.

Dangerous storms are roaring across the Plains as millions brace for a potentially life-threatening night of severe weather.
