Thousands of people have streamed onto the National Mall in Washington for a daylong prayer rally. The event Sunday is billed as a “rededication of our country as One Nation under God.”

D.C. is getting ready for a big America 250 event this weekend with Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer on the National Mall. It’s happening the same day thousands of families and students also will be on the mall for George Washington University’s graduation ceremony.

The event is scheduled to take place at the exact time most American Christians are at worship in their local congregations — 10:45 a.m.
