Police in Northern Ireland on Sunday declared a security alert in the town of Dunmurry, on the outskirts of Belfast, after reports that a car bomb exploded near a police station.

A car bomb attack at a police station in Co Antrim is "likely" to have been the work of the New IRA, PSNI chief constable Jon Boutcher has said.

“Thanks to the swift actions of police, no-one has been injured, which is nothing short of miraculous.”
