Russian President Vladimir Putin is all set to travel to China from May 19 to 20 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Donald Trump has put Xi Jinping on the spot during an “extremely rare” diplomatic honour inside Beijing’s tightly guarded Zhongnanhai compound.

In a statement, the Kremlin said that Putin’s trip, planned for May 19-20, had been scheduled to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the 2001 Sino-Russian Treaty of Friendship.
